Kazakhstan plans to build 12 solar power stations in the next 4 years

On November 24, Kazakhstans Minister of Energy said when attending a media briefing that day, as of now, Kazakhstan has 110 renewable energy power generation projects with a total installed capacity of 1,528 MW. Among them, wind power is 404 MW, solar power is 891 MW, hydropower is 224 MW, and biomass power is 7.82 MW.

The minister said that according to the plan, the proportion of renewable energy power generation in Kazakhstan should reach 3% in 2020, and this plan has been completed. It is estimated that by 2030, the proportion of renewable energy power generation will rise to 10% and reach 50% in 2050. At present, the Kazakh government has approved a hydropower development plan and plans to build 13 hydropower stations, 34 wind power stations and 12 solar power stations in the next 4 years.
